Search bar
The Where to / When / Where from / Who's going bar at the top of the page, and the guided 'Help me choose' finder behind it.
The Search bar (config) entry the Page links
What makes it this section
The Page entry's 'Search bar configuration' field points at it. The same entry is reused on the home page, so a change here changes both.

What each field controls
The Field column is the label as it appears in Contentful; under it, the field's id, for talking to a developer. The number matches the marker on the screenshots above.
| # | Field | What it controls | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
Internal name internalNamerequired | Nothing on the page. | — | |
1 | 'Where to?' label whereToLabel | The wording on the first segment of the bar. | — |
2 | 'When?' label whenLabel | The wording on the date segment. | — |
3 | 'Where from?' label whereFromLabel | The wording on the departure-airport segment. | — |
4 | 'Who's going?' label whoLabel | The wording on the travellers segment. | — |
5 | Search button label ctaLabel | The wording on the button that runs the search. | Shown as an icon at this width — the wording is what a screen reader announces and what the button says on a narrower screen. |
Earliest departure (days from today) leadTimeDays | How far ahead the calendar starts accepting dates. | 0 means a shopper can search for a holiday leaving today. 3 greys out the first three days. Maximum 365. This is the SEARCH window only — it does not decide what can be booked. | |
Departure airports departureAirports | The list of airports the 'Where from?' panel offers. | One row per airport: CODE|Display name|Group heading, e.g. "LHR|London Heathrow|London". Add "|group" as a fourth part for the row that stands for a whole group ("LON|Any London airport|London|group"). The order you type them in does not matter. Leave the list EMPTY and the site keeps its built-in ten-airport list, and records that it is doing so. | |
Airport / destination blacklist departureAirportBlacklist | Airports that stop being offered for a given destination. | One rule per row: AIRPORT|DESTINATION. "MAN|MLE" hides Manchester once the Maldives is chosen. Use * as the destination ("BFS|*") to hide an airport everywhere. | |
Compulsory steps compulsorySteps | Which segments a shopper must fill in before searching. | Choose one of: whereTo when whereFrom who | |
Selectable tags (from PIM) tags | The tags a shopper can search by. | These must be tags that exist in the PIM — do not invent values. | |
Special occasions (linked to TBX offers) specialOccasions | The occasions offered in the bar, e.g. honeymoon. | — | |
Offer a rooms selector roomsEnabled | Whether 'Who's going?' has a rooms stepper. | A platform-wide switch. Off means every search is for a single room. Turn it on only when the reservation system can price a multi-room holiday; leave it off if you are unsure — that is how the site ships. |
Fields on the guided finder (Help me choose)
A separate entry, read alongside the bar. It fills the panel a visitor gets when they would rather browse than type.
| # | Field | What it controls | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
Internal name internalNamerequired | Nothing on the page. | — | |
Heading heading | The panel's title. | — | |
Introduction introduction | The paragraph under it. | — | |
Interests / trip styles (tags) interests | The tags offered as things to browse by. | Published PIM tags only. A tag that does not exist in the PIM matches nothing. | |
CTA label ctaLabel | The wording on the panel's button. | — |
Other entries this section needs
| Content type | Why you need it |
|---|---|
| Help me choose (guided finder) | The heading, introduction, CTA wording and the interests a visitor can browse by, in the guided finder the bar opens. |
How to change it, step by step
Find the entry the Page links
Open the Page entry whose Kind is "searchResults", find the "Search bar configuration" field and open the linked Search bar (config) entry from there. Editing a different search-bar entry changes nothing on this page.
Change the labels or the lists
Edit the fields above. The airport list and the blacklist are one rule per row and the format matters — a malformed row is dropped.
Publish the search-bar entry
Change status → Publish on that entry, not on the Page.
Check both pages
The same entry drives the home page's bar. Check /search-results and the home page — a change you wanted on one appears on the other too.
