Things to do

Experiences that can be added to the holiday while the customer is there.

Where the content really comes from

ePIM excursions, per hotel

What makes it this section
Card source = excursions

Places the rail in the things-to-do band.

What a visitor sees

On the websiteLIVE
A row of experience cards under the heading “Things to do nearby”.
Again: your wording, the hotel’s experiences.

What each field controls

The Field column is the label as it appears in Contentful; under it, the field's id, for talking to a developer. The number matches the marker on the screenshots above.

Internal name

internalName
required
Nothing on the page.

On the shared template these follow the pattern "Hotel template — …", which is how you tell them from a single hotel's own rails.

2

Eyebrow (small title above)

eyebrow
The small upper-case line above the heading.

3

Heading

heading
The row's title.

4

Introduction

introduction
The paragraph under the title.

5

Card source

source
required
Which band of the hotel page this rail is.

This is what places the rail. Change it and the rail moves to a different band, or falls out of the page entirely.

6

Cards / selection

cards
Nothing here — the experiences come from the hotel's own ePIM record.

Leave it empty. Linking cards on this rail is authored content that no hotel page will show.

Maximum cards

maxCards
How many cards render.

Leave blank for no cap.

Show this section

showSection
Whether the band appears at all.

Set to No to hide the band without deleting it. On the shared template this hides it on EVERY hotel page — to hide it on one hotel, override the band on that hotel's own record instead.

Section background

The band of colour behind the section.

none = white.

Layout

variant
How the row is arranged.

The hotel page's bands are built to one design each, so this has less effect here than on the home page. Carousel is what the template sets.

How to change it, step by step

  1. Understand what you are about to change

This band is part of the SHARED hotel template. Editing it changes the same band on every hotel page on the site. If you only want it different on one hotel, use the last step instead.

  2. Find the entry

Search Contentful for "Hotel template — Things to do nearby" and open it. You can also reach it from the "Hotel detail — shared template" Page entry, which lists every band in page order.

  3. Change what you need

Edit the fields listed above. Contentful saves as you type, but saving is not publishing.

  4. Publish this entry

Change status → Publish, top right. Until you do, hotel pages keep showing the previous published version.

  5. Check a hotel page

Open any hotel page and find the band. Changes appear within about 30 seconds. If nothing changed, an unpublished entry is nearly always the reason — /api/debug-fallbacks lists anything that fell back to built-in content.

  6. If you wanted it on ONE hotel only

Undo your change here, then open that hotel's Accommodation entry, add a band of the same kind to its Sections list and author it there. A band on the hotel's own record overrides the template's for that hotel and leaves the other 1,800-odd untouched.
