Content rail (card row)

Global_Body_ContentRail_001

What this is used for

A heading, an introduction and a row of cards. Set Source (what is in the row), Variant (how it is laid out) and Mode (hand-picked or filled automatically) — those three replace the seven separate homepage section types this rail absorbed.

How you use it

A block that makes up part of a page. Create the entry, then add it to a page's list of sections. The same section entry can be added to more than one page.

Layout

HOW the row is laid out. Carousel scrolls, Grid wraps, Featured gives the first card prominence, Compact and Feature grid are the USP-band layouts, List is the stacked 'ways to book' layout, and Trust is the cream trust-mark band that sits under the hero (Which?, Feefo, ATOL, ABTA). Trust, Compact, Feature grid and List all need Card source = 'iconItems'. For Trust, link Icon item entries with Type = 'trustMark' and put each logo on the item's Icon field; to make one of them show the LIVE Feefo rating instead of a logo, set that item's 'Icon name' to feefo.

WHAT goes in the row. Pick 'manual' to hand-pick the cards below; anything else fills the row from that product family. 'handpicked' is the Handpicked Holidays carousel — a curated mix of hotels and trip ideas in the order you link them. ('offers' renders the same section and is kept for rails that already use it, or for a row of offer cards.) 'feefo' renders the reviews widget and ignores the card list.

Tags (for 'auto' mode)

tags
A list of short texts

Free-text tags used to pick what this rail shows automatically. These are not the approved tag list -- to filter on approved tags, use the Taxonomy panel on this section.

Cards / selection (drag to reorder)

cards
Several linked entries

The rail's cards, in the order they appear. Which types are allowed depends on what the section does — a hotel row takes accommodation, a tips row takes tips. The “Customise your trip” band is the odd one: it takes ONE itinerary part (the stop) followed by its points of interest.

Link / CTA (optional)

cta
One linked entry

The section's call to action. This is a link to a reusable CTA entry — the label and URL live there, so the same CTA can be used on more than one section without being retyped.

Tag curation

tagCuration
Structured data

Managed by the Tag Curator in the sidebar — you do not type in here. It collects the tags from the hotels and trips on this page, shows each one once, and saves the finished list for the website to read. Open the sidebar to reorder them, add one, or hide one.

Fields kept in step automatically

These appear greyed out, or not at all. They are filled in from another system, so anything typed here would be overwritten.
